Non-standard stamping parts are specialized components manufactured through stamping processes tailored to meet unique specifications that differ from conventional or standardized parts. This category includes components designed for applications that require custom dimensions, shapes, and features not covered by standard product offerings. Stamping is a process where metal sheets are pressed into desired shapes using dies and punches. While standard stamping parts follow predefined designs and measurements, non-standard parts are custom-engineered to fit specific requirements of various industries, including automotive, aerospace, electronics, and machinery. These parts are crucial in applications where off-the-shelf solutions are inadequate or impractical. The production of non-standard stamping parts involves several key steps. Initially, detailed specifications and drawings are provided by the client. These designs are then used to create custom dies and tooling. The metal sheets are fed into stamping presses, where they are shaped according to the unique design. Precision and accuracy are critical, as these parts often need to fit perfectly within a larger assembly or perform specific functions. Non-standard stamping parts can include components with complex geometries, unique cutouts, or specialized features such as reinforced sections or integrated mounting points. They may be made from various metals, including steel, aluminum, brass, and stainless steel, depending on the application's requirements for strength, weight, and corrosion resistance. The ability to produce non-standard stamping parts offers significant flexibility and customization for manufacturers. It enables them to meet specific engineering needs, accommodate design innovations, and address particular performance criteria that standard parts cannot fulfill. This bespoke approach ensures that each part performs optimally within its intended application, contributing to overall system efficiency and reliability.

Anhui Ningguo Dongbo Fastener Co., Ltd. is a Non-standard Stamping Parts manufacturer producing custom retaining rings, washers, brackets, cages and special-shaped stamped components from carbon spring steel and stainless steel. Our Ningguo plant runs the full process in house: strip steel rolling, die design and manufacture, stamping, machining, heat treatment, phosphating and other surface treatment, ultrasonic cleaning, automatic optical screening, performance testing and packaging.
We build parts to customer drawings or samples, so the range covers everything from a single special-shaped internal circlip to high-volume upper washers and limit cages. The work is supported by IATF16949, ISO14001 and CNAS-accredited testing, and by more than 9,000 standard and 15,000 non-standard part references already in production.
Non-standard stamping parts are components whose dimensions, geometry, material or function fall outside published standard ranges. We develop them from a drawing or a physical sample, then produce them on single-punch or progressive dies that we design and build ourselves. Typical parts include load-distributing washers, retaining and split rings with custom profiles, wear-resistant cages, brackets and formed wire components.
Because the die is made for the part, the geometry is not limited to round rings. We regularly produce parts with non-circular outlines, offset lugs, reinforced sections, integrated mounting points and formed flanges. Material thickness, hardness, spring temper and coating are selected against the working conditions rather than a catalogue number.
The custom stamping range sits alongside our standard retaining ring and washer families. The table below shows how we position each type and the applications it normally serves.
| Product Type | Typical Function | Common Application |
| High tensile strength upper washer | Load distribution under bolt heads, resists deformation | Automotive chassis, structural joints, heavy machinery |
| Wear-resistant limit cage | Guides moving parts, limits travel, reduces friction | Hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders, machine tools |
| Corrosion-resistant split retaining ring | Secures components on shafts or in bores, easy removal | Marine, chemical processing, outdoor equipment |
| Special-shaped internal circlip | Bore retention with custom profile or lug position | Gearboxes, actuators, power tools, appliances |
| Special-shaped external circlip | Shaft retention where standard ring geometry does not fit | Motors, transmissions, rotating assemblies |
| Functional special-shaped bracket | Positioning, mounting and load transfer | Construction machinery, energy equipment, assemblies |
Standard families remain available where a catalogue part meets the design: Internal Circlips, External Circlips, Snap Rings, Belleville Spring Washer and Flat Washers. When a standard part is close but not exact, we can modify the profile, material or coating instead of forcing a compromise.
Material selection drives spring properties, fatigue life and corrosion resistance. We work with the grades below and confirm the final choice against the load, temperature and environment of the part.
Surface treatment is matched to the service environment and to the salt spray requirement agreed for the project. Available finishes include phosphating (zinc or manganese), mechanical galvanizing, colored zinc, Dacromet, Geomet, electrophoresis, Megalide, zinc-nickel plating and passivation. Color options such as ash black, silver, white, silver gray, black, light yellow and dusky gray are available where the finish is specified.
A stamped part is defined by more than its outline. We confirm the following variables before releasing a die, because each one affects tooling, process sequence and inspection.
Where a part must be installed with pliers, pressed in, or snapped over a shaft, the free diameter and gap position are set so the ring seats correctly without over-stressing the material. For high-vibration joints, we can adjust material temper and section thickness to maintain clamp load.
Dongbo operates a full-process production system with an annual capacity of 3.5 billion pieces. Raw material precision rolling, die design and production, stamping, machining, heat treatment, surface treatment, ultrasonic cleaning, automatic optical screening, performance testing and packaging are all completed inside our factory. Keeping these steps under one roof shortens the route from drawing approval to first article and keeps process control consistent across batches.
Our die shop builds both single-punch and progressive dies, which allows us to develop special-shaped stamped parts, wire parts and formed parts without relying on external toolmakers. For production runs, progressive tooling supports higher output with stable dimensions; for lower volumes or complex forms, single-punch tooling can be more economical.
Inspection is built into the process rather than added at the end. We inspect after each production step, and finished parts can be fully inspected against customer requirements and the applicable standard. Our testing center holds CNAS accreditation and covers conventional material elements, mechanical properties, hardness and metallography, supported by multifunctional three-coordinate measuring equipment, electron microscope analyzers and self-developed test fixtures.
For retaining ring and washer products we manufacture with reference to DIN 471 and GB 894-2017, maintaining consistency in material, dimensions, tolerances, mechanical properties and surface treatment. Dongbo holds IATF16949 and ISO14001 certification and has participated in the formulation and revision of 13 national standards for elastic retaining rings, elastic cylindrical pins and disc washers.
To quote a non-standard stamped part accurately, we need the part definition and the conditions it will work under. The list below is the input set our engineers use to select material, tooling and process route.
When the drawing is incomplete, we can propose a geometry based on the assembly function and confirm it with the customer before cutting the die. This is often faster than waiting for a fully detailed drawing, particularly for replacement parts or design upgrades.
Our Product Customization service covers thickness, diameter, alternative materials and surface treatment choices for retaining rings, washers and stamped parts. We accept development of non-standard and special-shaped stamped parts, wire parts and formed parts, and can supply either in-house or through qualified outsourced processes where the specification requires it.
Packaging is agreed with the order: bag packaging, blister packaging, masking paper or strip packaging, oil paper or bundle packaging, and special boxes or customized repair kits. Barcode management and first-in-first-out principles support traceability from raw material to shipment.
Yes. We reverse-engineer the sample to establish dimensions, material and hardness, then prepare a drawing for customer approval before making the die. This is common for replacement parts and for components where the original drawing is no longer available.
We work mainly with carbon spring steel (65Mn, C67S, C75S), stainless steel (304, 2Cr13, 1.4122) and mild steel. The grade is selected against the required spring properties, strength, corrosion resistance and operating temperature of the part.
The approved drawing becomes the inspection standard. We inspect after each process step, and finished parts can be fully inspected for dimensions, hardness, material composition and coating. Our CNAS-accredited testing center supports material, mechanical property, hardness and metallography checks.
Our full-process production system has an annual capacity of 3.5 billion pieces across retaining rings, washers, pins and non-standard stamped parts. Capacity is allocated by order volume and tooling availability, and we confirm the schedule at quotation stage.
Yes. We hold more than 9,000 standard part references and more than 15,000 non-standard part references. If a standard circlip, snap ring or washer meets the design, we can supply it directly; if not, we modify the profile, material or coating to suit the application.
